In our corporate gatherings
- The Word of God is the primary tool for strengthening and building up the church. We believe that the Bible is the standard by which all ministry and service must be measured. We encourage personal Bible study, as well as small group studies, and corporate study through Sunday School and the pulpit ministry.
- In our worship, we are committed to pursue excellence in our music and to give the Lord our best in equipment, talents, time, energy, and faithfulness. We endeavor to present God’s people with every opportunity to meet with Him and to experience His life-changing presence in our corporate gatherings. We believe that corporate worship should be in unity and harmony with each other, with no division between “clergy and Laity”. We encourage every believer to express themselves to the Lord in worship through lifting hands, clapping, dancing, and other expressions which may be corporately appropriate. We also believe that pure worship is free from distraction or anything that would attract attention to anything or anyone but the Lord
- We desire to see our children grow up with a love for God and for the things of God. Our goal is to model for them an accurate demonstration of “body life”. In our efforts to minister to children, we place the primary responsibility on parents to teach and train their own children. We intend to provide parents with the training, tools, and support that they need, while also recognizing that the family unit is sovereign in how they manage their family. When we are together as a body we desire to provide ministry to our children that is relative to their maturity, their responsiveness, and their understanding. We desire to see them mature in knowledge of the word and in spiritual gifts. We also recognize that in order to reach out to those who are unchurched, that we must be prepared to minister to children who are untrained, undisciplined, and worldly. It is only through the character of Christ being manifest in us, that we will be able to love and care for them as He would have us.
- Stewardship – We believe that mature believers will acknowledge the Lordship of Christ over our material resources, and that we are His caretakers over them. We encourage returning to the Lord the tithe of all our income, and beyond the tithe giving to support the special ministries of missions, evangelism, outreach to the poor, and to the needs of those in the Body of Christ. We believe that when we give that the Lord will bless us and sustain our every need.
- Prayer – We believe that a life of prayer and intercession is vital to a personal relationship with the Lord. We emphasize prayer for healing of the sick, intercession for those in bondage, intercession for those in authority, prayer for the salvation of the lost, and the revival of the church.
- When we come together, we believe that spiritual gifts should be in operation. It is our desire that all believers mature in spiritual gifts. We intend to provide ways for the gifts of every believer to be exercised and sharpened. We especially emphasize the need for prophecy as did the apostle Paul in I Corinthians 14. We believe that God still speaks to us today through divine revelation, as manifested in the gift of prophecy. We choose to encourage those with prophetic gifts to share, in relationship with our leaders, the things that they feel God is saying through them.
