Gospel Tabernacle: Activating God's People

OUR MISSION is to activate God’s people to be ministers, to the Lord, to the lost world, and to the Body of Christ, advancing the Kingdom of God.

OUR PURPOSE

  1. Minister to the Lord by
    • Worshipping Him in spirit and in truth through a corporate style of worship that is Christ-focused, Spirit-led, intimate and inspiring. John 4:20-24
    • Giving to the Lord of our time, talents, money, and possessions, acknowledging His ownership and that we are His stewards. Malachi 3:6-10,
    • Personally devoting ourselves to a life-style of worship, prayer, intercession, and pursuing the knowledge of God. Isaiah 56:6-7
    • Living a life of humility, brokenness, and obedience to Him which overflows into all other areas of ministry. 2 Corinthians 8:5, 9:13
  2. Minister to the lost world by
    • Making evangelism and missions our outward expression of obedience to our Lord’s great commission to us. Matthew 28:18-20
    • Having Christ’s heart of compassion, always desiring to see the reconciliation of the lost and alienated to Himself. 2 Corinthians 5:18
    • Reaching beyond our walls, in practical and creative ways, to pursue relationships with those who need Christ in their life, . I Corinthians 9:21-23
    • Encouraging an attitude that is accepting of people with problems while not hesitating to confront sin. Matthew 11:19
  3. Minister to the Body of Christ by
    • Walking in love, mercy and forgiveness with one another, realizing that we all are in need of His grace. Ephesians 4:2
    • The ministry of the Word of God with a desire to teach, train, equip and send disciples into all the world. Matthew 24:14
    • Encouraging the spiritual gifts, especially prophecy for the edification, encouragement, and comfort of the Body. I Corinthians 14:1,3
    • Training servant leaders who can effectively oversee the work of the ministry. I Corinthians 9:19
    • Having a strong ministry to families, realizing that there are special needs which are best met through ministry to men, women, and children through different means and with different priorities. I Timothy 2:2, Titus 2:3-5, Matthew 19:14
    • Pursuing the goal of cultural and racial diversity in the local church by seeking out people of all backgrounds for membership and leadership. Acts 2:5,9-11, 13:1
